The scope of Innovate-ED is limited to innovation in education through new 'programmes/solutions' i.e. we are looking at how education policy can ensure new educational programmes/solutions can be created, tested (at user and institution level) and scaled-up for maximum positive impact on learners while minimising unwanted change for the teachers.
During our work to date we have received feedback about other valid lenses / approaches to innovation in education, that we are not well placed to cover (and our resources are limited). Therefore, we have decided to publicly say that the following topics, which may be valid and productive things to discuss, are outside the scope of Innovate-ED's work.
As an individual solution-provider, how do you get your solution adopted within the system?
Approaches advocating for revolutionary change.
Approaches requiring culture-change in the profession i.e. changes in beliefs or behaviours.
Tweeking things that are already working at scale e.g. curriculum change.
Narrative-based approaches to change that put one set of needs above all others 'it's all about x'. We are working on the assumption, rather, that learner needs are highly diverse, requiring a wide variety of solutions.
